Where are your pennies going?  Money usually slips through the cracks  in small amounts and goes unnoticed until there is no money to pay the bills.  It may surprise you the amount of money that is lost on a daily basis in every office.  There was a time when that may not have mattered - it certainly matters in today's  market. 

How do you handle referrals?
Referring a patient to a Specialist is sometimes necessary. Unless you handle sending your patient to a Specialist carefully, it leaves a bad taste in your patient’s mouth. There is an easy  – patient building way to handle sending your patients to a Specialist.

Can you honestly say that “Patient Care/Customer Service” is better in your office than the office down the street?
This is CRITICAL. You can provide all of the best treatment – top technology – in the most beautiful setting money can buy….BUT….. If your patients do not feel like you OR any one of your staff care about them – they won’t care how much you know, how gentle you are, how the equipment is the latest technology or how much of a discount you give them. They care about how much YOU care about them.

What is the attitude of your staff?
Do they support you? Do they speak highly of you to your patients? If you have a “bad apple”- get rid of them TODAY! Do not delay. Bad attitude is destructive! There is NOTHING to be gained by keeping someone who is NOT doing their job or creates negativity in the workplace. A “high producer” that creates problems in the office is not conducive to profit.

Do you have an ACCOUNTABILITY system?
Do you have the necessary information to KNOW beyond all doubt who is doing their job and who isn’t? Can you read the reports generated by your software? Where is YOUR AR? Do you know how to find it? Does your daily deposit balance? Are all treatments entered every day for every patient?

You do not have to do it all - there is help available!
Self-evaluation is very hard to do. However, it can be the MOST positive change made in your practice. Do you need help in your office? Do you require your staff to do their job to the standards you have set? Are your staff members trained appropriately?

At some point you have to decide if are YOU invested in your practice?
